WSB - NLU
Wyzsza Szkola Biznesu - National-Louis University [WSB-NLU] is a leading business and management learning centre. Its mission is to educate the highest quality managerial cadre for economy, politics and administration, that means educating people who will be working both in Poland and in international institutions of EU. WSB-NLU has 300 faculty staff educating 4500 students at 3 departments: business, computer science and political science. WSB- NLU also is one of the best equipped universities in Poland. It comprises of 5 highly advanced edifices, with 5 amphitheatre rooms equipped with high quality multimedia devices, and 55 workshop classrooms and language teaching facilities. There are also 10 computer laboratories availible, and a video-conference hall which enables students to participate in lectures given by specialists from different countries. Students can use both commercial and open-source systems and software. All the computers have access to the Internet and Intranet. Additionally, terminals are available in the corridors all across the campus, allowing students to check their email or browse the Internet everywhere. WSB- NLU library is also impressive - it gathers over 56 thousand items, 8 thousand language learning books, and is subsribed to 2 thousand magazines.
WSB - NLU actively cooperates with over 30 other universities across the globe.  The cooperation mainly  involves student and teacher exchange,  organisation of various research projects, seminars, study visits and academic assemblies. Academic partners of WSB are mainly from USA - e.g. National Louis Universiity of Chicago, and De Paul University of Chicago.  
The University has both managed and actively participated in various kinds of EU funded projects in the field of education, training, mobility and research including LEONARDO, SOCRATES, EQUAL, PAUCI, CEUME and PHARE. The University focuses on projects related to SME development, such as e-learning, ICT use in business, and research related to SMEs in the field of managerial competences. It has delivered studies and training for the hospitality sector on three different levels: bachelor degree, post graduate studies and specialised training courses. The sector is very crucial to the region because of the tourist industry since Malopolska is one of the two top tourist regions in Poland.  Dissemination of the project’s results will also be a key function as will mainstreaming.

PSZK - Polish Association for Personnel Management
Polish Association for Personnel Management was established in May 1994, and is the only specialised organisation created by the Polish HR environment in order to develop new methods and techniques of human resources management in Poland. PSZK is an association of human resources department directors and workers, consultants, and HR scientists. PSZK is a member of the European Association for Personnel Management and World Federation of Personnel Management Associations. It also is one of the six partners of the  "XXI century Personnel" Initiative, and a  co-organiser of such projects as "Managing Director of the year". The aim of the association is to integrate HR managers, and to exchange proffesional knowledge and experience in the coutry and around the world, as well as to design standards of HRM activity.

 

The Institute of Labour and Social Studies – ILSS

The Institute of Labour and Social Studies – ILSS (Instytut Pracy i Spraw Socjalnych) based in Warsaw,. Poland, is a scientific research institute. The Institute has been operating for forty years serving not only government administration and policy makers, but also taking active part in academic research works, tutoring and supervising series of publications, especially those valuable in the teaching process. The Institute’s basic research works are accompanied by applied studies, and the requirements of current and strategic social and economic policies. The main forms of activities are:
Research activities as: statutory research, State Committee for Scientific Research grants, international projects, seminars, conferences;

International co-operation as: international research projects, bilateral research projects, data base development;
Expert reports and consulting as: assignments commissioned by various institutions, activities of public services; Education as: post-graduate studies, phd studies.
The research activities of the Institute cover the labour and social policy questions in an interdisciplinary manner. The research directions are adjusted to the current needs of the national socio-economic policy, and comprise such areas as economy, law, political sciences, sociology, pedagogic sciences. The research covers the topics crucial to currently pursued socio-economic policy and directions of change processes, such as:

Labour problems (labour market policy, migration for work, human resources management, working time, remuneration and motivation systems, occupational science, labour law); Collective labour relations (social partners, collective disputes, employee participation, collective bargaining, collective agreements, collective labour law); Social policy (state social policy, social security, social institutions and instruments, family problems and family policy, poverty, social exclusion and counteracting measures).
